Repairable problem or replacement candidate?
The answer depends on where the failure lives. A serviceable connection, GFCI, transformer or control issue is different from a compromised sealed underwater fixture.
If the fixture has leaked, corroded, failed internally or become obsolete, full replacement may be the better option. If the electrical fault is upstream, replacing the light alone may not fix anything.

Should a wet pool-light fixture be turned back on?
No. Water intrusion can indicate a compromised fixture or seal. Leave power off until the condition is evaluated.
Why does the fixture flicker but still work?
Intermittent output can come from the LED driver, internal fixture electronics, connections, voltage, transformer, relays or controls.
Do I need to drain the pool for fixture repair?
Not always. Many pool lights are designed to be released from the niche and brought above water. The existing fixture, niche and cord condition determine the correct method.
